Abstract

There is an urgent need to develop and evaluate more effective pharmacological treatments for Alzheimer's disease (AD). This editorial explores the avenue of drug repositioning and outlines a number of existing treatments that show great promise as therapies, in addition to discussing the potential for high-throughput drug discovery techniques in this important field. © 2013 Informa UK, Ltd.
