Abstract

Afghanistan has unfortunately faced much political instability, which has resulted in the denial to women and girls of many of the educational opportunities that their counterparts in other countries have access to. The Digital Citizen Fund was founded by Roya Mahboob, an activist and entrepreneur who worked to build classrooms with technology access in Afghan high schools for girls. This has contributed to the empowerment of women and girls (Sustainable Development Goal 5) and their progress in the digital revolution.
