Abstract

Abstract: Lipid peroxidation can occur due to strong physical activities, which are manifested by the raising of MDA levels, which can reduce the performance and fitness of athletes. Malondialdehide (MDA) is a product of the unsaturated fat acids by free radicals. Through this research, the authors wanted to prove the presence of MDA levels in blood after being given high-intensity physical treatment. The purpose of this research is to obtain information about the effect or impact of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) on the levels of Malondialdehide (MDA) in long-distance running athletes of PASI Malang City. The method and design used in this research is an experiment in the form of The one group pretest-posttest design. The results of this research showed that by giving HIIT exercise, there was a significant effect on MDA levels in long-distance running athletes. The result of this research showed that the MDA level is decreasing after the HIIT training applied. Then, it can be concluded according to the results of the paired T-test that HIIT exercise is quite influential on the changes of MDA levels in PASI long-distance running athletes, Malang City. Abstrak: Peroksidasi lipid bisa terjadi karena aktivitas fisik yang kuat, yang dimanifestasikan oleh kenaikkan kadar MDA, yang bisa mengurangi kinerja dan kebugaran atlet. Malondialdehide (MDA) merupakan produk oksidasi asam lemak tak jenuh oleh radikal bebas. Melalui penelitian ini, penulis ingin membuktikan keberadaan kadar MDA dalam darah setelah diberikan perlakuan fisik dengan intensitas tinggi. Tujuan diadakannya penelitian ini untuk mendapatkan informasi mengenai pengaruh atau dampak latihan High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) terhadap kadar Malondialdehide (MDA) pada Atlet lari jarak jauh PASI Kota Malang. Metode dan rancangan yang digunakan pada penelitian ialah eksperimen yang berbentuk The one group pretest-posttest design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan pemberian latihan HIIT terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kadar MDA pada atlet lari jarak jauh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai kadar MDA relatif menurun setelah dilakukannya latihan HIIT. Maka dapat ditarik kesimpulan menurut dari hasil pengujian T berpasangan bahwa latihan HIIT cukup berpengaruh terhadap perubahan kadar MDA pada atlit lari jarak jauh PASI Kota Malang.
