Abstract

The activities of manganese in Mn-C melts showed positive deviation from ideality at less than 0. 17 atomic fraction of carbon and deviated negatively above this value. The activities of manganese and silicon in Mn-Si melts showed negative deviation from ideality. Some thermodynamic quantities at 773 K were calculated.
