Abstract

Austropamphantus woodwardi and Woodwardothignus gracilis are described as new genera and new species from northern Queensland. Austropamphantus is the first member of the tribe Pamphantini (subfamily Bledionotinae) from the Eastern Hemisphere. Its relationships are discussed, and the insect in dorsal view, and the spermatheca and the abdomen in dorsal and lateral views figured. A world checklist of Bledionotinae is included. Woodwardothignus is a new genus in the Heterogastrinae. Its relationships are discussed, including its apparent African affinities. The dorsal view and dorsal and ventral views of the abdomen, parameres and phallus are figured. Comments are included on previous generic keys to the Heterogastrinae.
