Abstract

Increasing climate change-related extreme weather events and imminent resource scarcity are not only a threat to physical health but also carry a high risk for mental illness which entails increasing vulnerability especially for marginalized groups. According to Public Mental Health, counteracting these risks by mitigation and adaptation needs to be recognized as a global responsibility by society as a whole.
