The virtual Knowledge Landscape (KL) simulates a natural cognitive space for users. Visualizing the relationship between educational texts, it helps students when browsing through the data and when studying details. The main objective of the KL is to allow students to quickly gain an overview over a large collection of educational hypermedia materials. Relations between texts are calculated using a SOM after having analyzed the texts' vocabulary. Additional information is derived from the link-structure so that texts can be classified as overview or detailed texts.
