Abstract

Corinne Strydom, Minrie Greeff, Cornelia Wessels, Engela van der Walt, Paul J Schutte As part of the practical training in Social Work, fourth-year students render services to a disadvantaged community at a service delivery organisation. Valuable services are offered to the community, but there is no feedback system to evaluate the quality of these services. The objectives of this research were to explore this placement as experienced by the students themselves, the organisations linked to this service delivery, and the community members to whom they delivered services, and then to make recommendations. An exploratory descriptive qualitative research design was used, utilising focus groups with the students and organisations, and individuals.
