Abstract

The Concurso de Ingeniería de Control (CIC) (Engineering Control Challenge) is a student challenge organized by the Comité Español de Automática - CEA (Spanish Committee of Automation) from Spain. It was set as an educational and motivational tool for control engineering students. Although originally devised for Spanish pupils, several non-spanish teams ended up participating at the two editions, 2012 and 2013. This article describes details about the challenge and its organization, and it shows, as well, some of the impressions obtained by polls and testimonials from participants. © 2015 Springer International Publishing.
