Abstract

Life tests for vague data expressed, e.g. by plain words, are considered. It is shown how to handle with fuzzy lifetimes and fuzzy censoring in order to find estimates, fuzzy confidence intervals and verify hypotheses concerning the mean lifetime. Different strategies corresponding to the decision-maker’s attitude to the life data is considered.
