Abstract

According to the American Heritage New Dictionary of Cultural Literacy , mythology is defined as “the body of myths belonging to a culture” or “a set of stories, traditions, or beliefs associated with a particular group or the history of an event, arising naturally or deliberately fostered.” Both of these definitions point out a vital component of mythology: the impact cultural history had on its inception.
