Many neurodegenerative conditions are associated with neuropsychiatricsymptoms. The origin of these symptoms is complex, and includesneuroanatomical, neurochemical, psychological, and social factors.Management of neuropsychiatric symptoms in neurologic disease ischallenging, as there is a dearth of evidence-based data. This chapterexplores the neurobiology of the most common neuropsychiatric symptomsencountered in clinical practice, and outlines current approaches towardtheir pharmacological and behavioral management.
