Abstract

It seems that seismicity in mines has become recently a major topic in monitoring and discrimination research of seismic events with respect to a CTBT. An evasion scenario for clandestine testing of small nuclear weapons in the areas of induced seismicity cannot be dismissed. Thus seismic events generated in mines form a separate set of the events of interest, apart from earthquakes and explosions.
