UWAC Challenges and Research Trends

Abstract

Ocean observation, resource exploration and exploitation are among the top concerns of various countries today. The working environment of various underwater sensors for various applications such as marine environment and meteorological research, marine resources development and protection, port security, and monitoring efficiency requires networked underwater communication monitoring and management. Nowadays, with the gradual increase of underwater applications, there is an urgent need for UWAC to transmit faster and farther in terms of performance. This chapter summarizes the current challenges faced by UWAC and network technologies and the future trends.
