Abstract

Abstract The world needs construction material will castellated Beams profile steel is increasing in line with the human need to get a strong structure, rapid implementation time while still promoting the aesthetic value of the structure. That is because the profile castellated Beams very practical and proven to have advantages over steel usual profile, the stiffness and strength of the profile will increase with increasing high web resulted in the addition of the modulus of section and moment of inertia of the cross section without adding weight profile original (weight profile at the moment greater inertia). But unfortunately, found some failure in the castellated Beams, ie web post buckling and vierendeel mechanism most be special attention from researchers because it is a major failure of the most frequent and more complex in its formulation. The study compared three types of castellated Beams are hexagonal, octagonal and circular castellated Beams with dimensions and opening the same area where each type has a length of 4 meters under review due to gravity load (distributed load) with eigen-value buckling analysis. Evaluation of web post buckling failure and vierendeel mechanism with the formulation of Aglan and Redwood and Soltani, et al (2011) which will be known typical castellated beam that has the smallest effect due to the influence of such failure to the parameters that have been determined. From the analysis it can be concluded that due to the distributed load turns web post buckling and vierendeel mechanism greatest influence on octagonal castellated beam while the smallest effect occurs in hexagonal castellated beam.
