This study had the purpose of developing a scale of learning strategies at work and verifying how often they are used by managers of a Brazilian public bank. Data collection was made through documental search, interviews and structured questionnaires. The questionnaires were answered by 881 bank managers and the data were submitted to descriptive and factor analysis. Results revealed 26 practices to learn at work which were grouped into five factors: active reflection; interpersonal help seeking; seeking help from written material; reproduction; and practical application (α = .79 to .92). The most used learning strategies were interpersonal help seeking and active reflection. At last, an agenda for future research is suggested.
