Abstract

This study aims to identify the potential of crops as food and feed and to analyze the added value of feed crops through feed preservation technology. The research was conducted in Samigaluh Subdistrict in Kulon Progo Regency. Determination of research location in Pagerharjo Village. The sample was taken by purposive as many as 70 farmers with crop-livestock integration businesses. The analysis is descriptively quantitative. The results showed that S. Aromaticum accounted for 62.91% of total food plantation crops, Albizia chinensis (92.45%), and Durio zibethinus (83.26%). Pennisetum purpureum and Calliandra calothyrsus can provide 63,875 kg/day for the needs of goat feed, while the waste is used for the preservation of feed. Preparation of feed preservation with the average livestock ownership of 1.46 UT, goat requirement feed of 7 kg/ UT/day and assumption of feed crop usage equal to 25% from the total requirement of raw material of feed preservation then the farmer’s get additional income from the preservation of feed for ten drums or IDR 418.500,00/month. Break-Even analysis shows that minimum feeding of 70 drums/ month or IDR 15.350/drum. Overall, food crops and animal feed as well as animal feed preservation technology potential to increase farmers’ income.
