Abstract

Energy is one of the most basic elements of the universe and is essential for the presence and survival for all living organisms on the earth. Broadly, energy is nothing but the capability to do work. The sun could be viewed as the basic source for energy on the earth. Over a period of time, humankind has looked for several sources for energy in the nature. Humans could be said to have succeeded towards identifying, extracting and modifying different sources to cater for the energy needs.
