Abstract

The decapod crustácea associated as obligatory commensals of tlie stony coral Poci¬llopora damicornis L. was studied in Gorgona Island. All of the crustácea collected were described on the basis of their color and some were rediscribed morphologically so that this can be used in the future in the Colombian Pacific. A review of the distribution of these species in the Indo and American Pacific is given. The following species were reported: Harpiliopsk depressus HoLTHurs, Fennera chacei HoLTHurs, Thor amboinmsis (DE MAN), Synalpheus charon (HELLER), Alphem lotťmi GUERIN-MENEVFLLE, Synalpheus digueti COURTIER, Domecia hispida EYDOUX & SOULEYET, Tra¬pezia ferruginea LATREILLE, Trapťzia digitalis LATREILLE.
