Abstract

For secure and high-speed data transmission over smaller distances the Ultra-Wideband application becomes very popular in modern wireless Communication. So for such applications, it is necessary to have small size printed antennas. However, the design of such antenna becomes quite challenging ones. The design and analysis of compact microstrip fed simple Ultra Wideband antenna with WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) band rejection is presented in this paper. The Proposed antenna covers frequencies in the range of 2.3 to 13.5 GHz almost entire ultra wideband with 10db return loss. A maximum gain of 11db is achieved in the proposed design. In addition with this, the proposed design eliminates the interference from WiMAX band of 3.3 to 4.3 GHZ with centre frequency 3.5 GHz. The total size of the antenna is 30 mm × 30 mm × 1.6 mm and uses FR4_epoxy as a substrate with a relative permittivity of 4.4. The proposed antenna finds applications in handheld devices operated in 5G bands, RF energy harvesting.
