Abstract

The application of fluid inclusion studies to interpretation of sedimentary environments (excluding ore deposits) is discussed. Topics presented include: provenance of detritus, saline deposits, cements and overgrowths on detritus, vugs, veins, geodes and other diagenetic minerals in sedimentary rocks. Hydrocarbon-bearing environments, as well as inclusions in amber, speleothems, sulphur, ice and living organisms are also covered.-J.A.Z.
