Abstract

Duplication of the gallbladder is a rare congenital anomaly. This report describes a case of duplicated gallbladder with symptomatic cholelithiasis. In this case, the patient underwent cholecystectomy, with pathologic confirmation of two gallbladder cavities, both containing mulberry calculi. Sonography is important for an accurate preoperative diagnosis before considering cholecystectomy to avoid overlooking a second gallbladder during surgery.
