The purpose of this research is to analyze and describe the effectiveness of video media towards the activity and learning results in writing narrative text. The samples of research were grade IV students of SD Negeri 5 Gumelar Banyumas, with 21 students as the experiment group and 22 students as the control group. The design of this experiment is quasi experimental in the form of non-equivalent control group design. Based on the first hypothesis test that used independent samples t test, it showed that there was a significant difference in activity and learning results in writing narrative text at fourth grade students between the learning process that taught using video media and the group that taught using picture media. Based on the second hypothesis test that used one sample t test, it showed that the activity and learning results in writing narrative text at fourth grade students that taught using video media was higher than students that taught using picture media. So, it can be concluded that video media is effective to improve student's activity and learning results.
