We report here an application of the Poisson relation useful when a joint magnetic and gravity gradient survey has been made. Susceptibility contrast to density contrast ratio map (which we call the "pseudolithologic" map) can be estimated. As a test of these techniques we have applied to gravity gradiometry and magnetic airborne surveys collected over Baú-Gandarela area in Quadrilátero Ferrífero, Minas Gerais State, Brazil. The main idea here is to highlight the prospecting of hematites bodies in the area. The computed pseudolithologic map clearly distinguishes the regions of the map that we already have a hematite mine and hematites bodies. © 2009 Sociedade Brasileira de Geofísica.
