Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of planting media and application of liquid organic fertilizer on the growth and yield of celery plants. The research was carried out at the Field Laboratory Experimental Garden 1, Faculty of Agriculture, Halu Oleo University, Kendari, from November 2021 to January 2022. The study used a factorial randomized block design consisting of 2 factors. The first factor is the planting medium (M) which consists of 3 levels: Soil (M0), Soil + Manure = 2:1 (M1) and Soil + Rice Husk = 2:1 (M2). The second factor is liquid organic fertilizer (M2). P) which consisted of 3 levels: POC 0 ml L-1 (P0), POC 10 ml L-1 (P1) and POC 20 ml L-1 (P2). There were 9 treatment combinations and arranged into three groups, so there were 27 experimental units. The variables observed were plant height, number of leave and tillers, plant and root fresh weight, plant and root dry weight. The results showed that treatment of planting media, the application of liquid fertilizer and the interaction between the two treatments on the leaves of gamal had a very significant effect on all observed variables. The best interaction was obtained at the M0P2 interaction.
