Aiming at the gap between training goal, training mode and students' skills of thermal energy and power engineering specialty, and social demand of the refrigeration and air-conditioning industry, the teaching reform and practice of the thermal energy and power engineering specialty in Zhongyuan university of technology have been carried out. The training objective and the training specification of the graduate have been restructured. On this basis, the theoretical curriculum system has been reorganized, and the teaching program have been revised. The development target of teacher training has been determined, and the teaching methods and means have been enriched. And even the construction mode of practice teaching base has been explored. Proved by practices, the teaching effect is obvious. © 2013 Springer Science+Business Media.
