Abstract

The Balanced Scorecard, developed by Kaplan and Norton [1], is a reliable and now often used instrument of strategic management. While a huge number of applications can be found in business administration and financial management, only a few BSCs exist in manufacturing realms. While the need for adaptability is obvious for most manufacturing companies, it remains difficult to hold a clear and steady course to an increased status of manufacturing adaptability. In this paper we present a BSC approach suitable to foster manufacturing adaptability. For the validation, a hybrid simulation environment and different case studies will be used.
