Abstract

A space called plasma containing charged particles is generally formed by using an electric discharge. Therefore, charged particles (mainly electrons) having very high energy exist in the plasma, and gas molecules are dissociated by the electrons having the high energy. Various radicals generated by this action promote chemical reactions that do not occur in ordinary chemical reaction fields. Taking advantage of this feature, the use of plasma as a new reaction field is expanding.
