The scheme proposed in the paper aims to maximize the utilization of a grid interfacing inverter used for distributed generation (DG) integration. To maximize the utilization, inverter is controled to integrate DG unit with active power filtering features. The inverter is controlled in a way to (1) inject power generated from DG to grid, and (2) compensation of grid current harmonics, load current balance, and reactive power compensation. Control strategy used is a learning based Anti-Hebbian (AH) algorithm. AH algorithm extracts fundamental active and reactive component of load side power and continuously tune these components through feedback principle with respective changes in input. Furthermore, closed loop power control is done without using phase-locked loop (PLL). Thus, power is controlled accurately with harmonic compensation function. In addition, ability of this scheme to work in condition of frequency deviation is also discussed. Simulation of the scheme with all possible condition variation is done to show effectiveness of the scheme.
