Abstract

The widespread adoption of XML is creating a new set of data management requirements, such as the need to store and query XML documents. Traditional methods of storing and querying XML documents are in single processor environment. This paper proposes a parallel processing technology based on multi-processor. The key issues such as XML data model, storage model, data placement strategy, paralleling query, indexing etc. are also discussed. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2003.
