Speed is essential in stream cipher design. In 2011, Lee and Park [5] proposed a software implementation for word-based FCSRs. The sequences generated by the FCSRs using Lee and Park’s implementation methods are half-ℓ-sequences. In this paper, we investigate the imbalance properties of half-ℓ-sequences. Bounds on the numbers of occurrences of one and two consecutive symbols are given. The experimental results show how tight our bound is.
