Abstract

Conventional sensor networks often adopt the isotopic sensing model and simplified 2D sensing models. However they cannot accurately characterize the actual application scene of image/video sensor networks. To remedy this deficiency, we proposed a 3D directional sensing model. Where the main sensing direction can be changed by title angle and deviate angle, and its coverage range is changed with the height of sensor deployed. Furthermore coverage-enhancing problem based on this model has also been solved in two methods, including optimizing main sensing model directly and respectively optimizing title angle and deviate angle based on artificial bee colony algorithm. Numerical results demonstrate the viability and effectiveness of the proposed model and coverageenhancing algorithms.
