Abstract

Nowadays, autism could be considered as a still untreatable disease. Its very complex nature and the still unclear pathophysiology and pathogenesis create challenges in treating this disorder. Current drug options for autism management are not effective for the treatment of core symptoms of autism. This chapter describes the state–of–the–art about pharmacological interventions and focuses on novel potential therapeutics, including cell therapies, for autism care.
