A mutual teaching project was set up between a gymnasium in Sweden and a gymnasium in Germany within the aims of the Comenius Network project “Developing Quality in Mathematics Education II”. The main objective was that the two teachers wanted to let their students work on the same modelling assignment to observe the similarities and the differences between how the teachers and the students handled this project. We will deal with the question: How does the communication between students, teacher, and computer influence the modelling process?
