Abstract

The former range and the present range of the sage hen in the semiarid grasslands of central and eastern Washington are presented. Land changes and their affects on sage hen, hunting and its effects, population levels of sage hen, migration, and former and present status of sage hens for each county are discussed. Most of the sage hens in Washington are now found in Douglas, Lincoln, Grant, Kittitas, Yakima and Benton counties.
