Abstract

Contrast agents have played an important role in diagnostic radiology. Aside from angiography and nuclear medicine techniques that are, by definition, contrast examinations, contrast agents have added significantly to the diagnostic capabilities of all imaging modalities. Sonography is the last technique that has not gleaned the benefits of contrast media administration.
