Abstract

Paper documents of public administration are being gradually replaced by XML documents with structure formally expressed as XML Schema definitions. However, due to rapid changes in legal and administrative regulations, many IT departments face the problem of fast and effective adaptation of user interfaces (UIs) of applications to changes in versions of public administration documents. This paper presents an approach to automatic transformation of XML Schema documents into useful and effective web form documents using the Form Presentation Language (FPL). The result of transformation is ready to use for end-users, while the style of transformation may be modified with minimal effort without specific technical skills. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2014.
