Abstract

The re positioning of final manufacturing into the distribuition channel and the moves towards customization-on-order are related to the implementation of posponed manufacturing.A framework f or the analyses of supply chain reconfigurantion paterns in the context of internationalization strategy is presented and used 8 cases study.The results suggest that the implementation of posponed manufacturing require not only the reconfigurantion of the logistics system, but also that other operations in supply chain (manufacturing, source, design), thus creating a cross-funcitional effect. Different paths are found which are able for structuring the supply chain reconfigurantion process in the context of internationalization strategy .
