Abstract

An increasing amount of clinical evidence strongly supports the therapeutic potential of mesenchymal stem cells for ischemic tissue revascularization and restoration of function. Significant clinical results have been obtained by autologous transplantation of bone marrow-derived endothelial and hematopoietic stem cells in ischemic lesions in limbs [1]. © 2008 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
