Abstract

This article presents information on issues related to oppression among aboriginal people. It is informed that the Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples was established to disclose the effects of generations of exploitation, violence, and cultural imperialism among aboriginal peoples in Canada. The principle of maintaining respect for aboriginal rights and treaties has been articulated in the Canadian Constitution of 1982. Education provides a hope to the aboriginal people for their future.
