This chapter discusses integrative care in pediatric oncology. Pediatric integrative oncology is the intentional combining and coordinating of conventional and evidence-based complementary therapies into the overall treatment plan developed by the pediatric oncology team with the family. The core principles of integrative medicine are as follows: (1) focus on the individual's innate healing response, (2) emphasis on the therapeutic relationship between patient and provider, (3) consideration on the whole person and all elements of lifestyle, (4) emphasis on health promotion, and (5) the use of all appropriate evidence-based therapies, both conventional and complementary.
