The purposes of the present study were to prepare a choice-making assessment manual that treats choice-making as a behavior chain, and to evaluate the social validity of this manual with students at a special school for children with intellectual disabilities in China. Teachers (n = 22) applied the manual to assess students (n = 22) in relation to daily life situations at the school, after which the teachers completed a 5-part questionnaire on social validity, including questions about the contents of the information recorded, entry of that information, implementation of the assessment, effects of the assessment, and rationality of the assessment manual. The results indicated that the choice-making assessment manual was suitable on most of these dimensions. However, a few teachers indicated that the entry of information had been difficult. The recording method and assessment took less time and ingenuity. Case studies should be done in order to improve the assessment manual. (PsycINFO
