Abstract

Only 3 chondracanthid copopod spp have previously been described from New Zealand, in 1889. An examination of material deposited in the Victoria Univ. Of Wellington, New Zealand, revealed, besides the previously described 3 Chondracanthus spp, 1 new sp, Prochondracanthus platycephali sp. nov., and 3 spp known previously only from Japan and the USA, Condracanthodes radiatus, Chondracanthus lotellae and Acanthochondria incisa. All the spp are described and figures here
