In the title compound, C8H9ClN2O 2, the two planar fragments, i.e. the chloro-phenyl and C - C(=O) - N groups, are inclined at 14.93 (17)°. In the crystal, relatively weak inter-molecular N - H⋯N, C - H⋯O and N - H⋯O hydrogen bonds connect the mol-ecules into layers. The hydro-phobic parts of mol-ecules stick outside these layers and are connected with the neighbouring layers only by van der Waals contacts and Cl⋯Cl inter-actions [3.406 (2) Å].
