Abstract

Food intolerance to biogenic amines, often also termed histamine intolerance, has to be differentiated from immune-mediated food allergy. Specific diagnostic test are still missing. Patients with intolerance to amines are mainly treated with special diets, additionally, antihistamines may be useful.
