Abstract

This chapter guides you through the deliver function of supply chain management and is split into three main sections. First, it looks at the components of deliver within supply chain management, describing distribution networks and their key trade-offs. Second, transport management and different modes of transportation are explored. Third, consideration is given to warehouse planning and different warehouse layouts. The chapter concludes with a case study of transport planning best practice in the company DHL.
