Abstract

Tunnelling and excavation work on the Mingtan pumped storage hydroelectric power station in Taiwan are described. The New Austrian Tunnelling Method has been used. Rockfalls and water seepage have posed major challenges. Tunnel and powerhouse reinforcement and lining are described. (J.M.M.)
