Abstract

The best way to learn statistics is by taking courses and working with data. Some books may also be helpful. A fi rst step in applied statistics is usually to describe and summarize data using estimates and descriptive plots. The principle behind p -values and statistical inference in general is covered with a schematic overview of statistical tests and models.
