Abstract

Cerebral toxoplasmosis is common in AIDS patients; however, pneumocystosis of the brain is rarely documented. We report a patient with AIDS hospitalized for brain abscesses. Stereotactic brain biopsy with immunofluorescence staining was positive for Pneumocystis jiroveci. The patient received high doses of cotrimoxazole and had a favorable clinical course. © 2012 The Author(s).
