the research aimed to evaluate the achievement of research skills in students of the faculty of medical sciences of Peruvian public university from the implementation and application of the inverted classroom. To this end, 99 students of the 9th cycle of nursing and midwifery courses enrolled in the course of research methodology were used as a population, divided into an experimental group of 45 students of the nursing course in which the inverted classroomwas implemented; And a control group with 54 midwifery students who received traditional teaching. Three measurements of competency achievement were performed in week 8, 12 and 16 of the semester. The moodle educational platform was used to implement and apply the inverted classroom. The results showed different average scores in the evaluation of the postest, of 1.32 points of the experimental group over the control group, as a result of the application of the inverted classroomas a strategy to improve learning of the research methodology. It was concluded that the application of the inverted classroom significantly improves the achievement of research skills related to the problem of the research project, the development of the theoretical framework and learning the methodology of the research project.
